Featuring artefacts, artworks and stories of regeneration, recovery and readiness, this exhibition highlights and celebrates the many ways our community has come together to address the challenges faced during the Black Summer bushfires, while reflecting on the areas where we still have work to do.

Permanent Exhibitions

The Batemans Bay Court House
The museum is housed in the old Batemans Bay court house and police station. It was built in 1905 and is a key part of out local heritage. As you enter the Museum you step into the court room, complete with the Judge's bench and gavel.
The Original Police Cell
Take a "cellfie" in the original police lock up.


Lest We Forget
Artefacts and stories armed conflicts from the Boer War to Afghanistan.
The Hospital Room
Learn about the tools, practices and cures used in medical treatment in the past - many of them quite hair-raising.

Annett's General Store
Travel back in time and visit local institution Annett's General store - where Batemans Bay locals got their groceries, gossip and news for decades in the early 20th century.
Kid's Space
Come and investigate our curiosity corner. We have games and activities for all ages


Water crossings
Before cars were readily available, the fastest way to travel up and down the South Coast was by ship. learn about the shipping trade, and find out how people have crossed the Bhundoo/Clyde River throughout history.
Timber Tales
Learn about Batemans Bay's days as a timber town, and enter local institution Perry's Mill.
